For us guys, dates are almost like job interviews. You need to make a good impression, answer the questions and be engaging and interesting. We’re also going to be judged on our looks, our clothes and our success. Putting it this way, getting a job sounds much easier. Sometimes we are so nervous, so eager to make a good impression, that we fall flat on our faces and end up with a myriad of awkward silences. It doesn’t have to be like this. Here are just a couple of tips that can help you get a second date. Prepare Your Anecdotes Yes, preparation is key. If you’re going to treat your date like a job interview, then you may as well come prepared. Think about an engaging story you told at your most recent dinner party. You have one, right? If not, create one. Try it out the next time you meet with a friend and see what the reaction is like. The anecdotes that work particularly well are funny, a result of an amalgamation of coincidences or just ridiculously interesting. Stay away from dangerous topics such as religion or politics. Forget Small Talk! Sure, small talk is great for the first 5 minutes but what you really want to do is stand out from the crowd. Talk about your ideas. Invite her into your world. Girls love it when they think they’ve met an engaging or intelligent man, someone that knows his stuff about interesting topics.
